Sunday at Kagoma Church

Today we went to the village of Kagoma, about 45 minutes north of Jinja. Things were in full swing before we arrived, and the place was packed. They took us to the front, and we were given seats of honor, facing the congregation! The singing was quite spirited, and we made a few brief videos. .
.
We were treated to a sermon from Spencer Bogle, delivered in Lusoga. We are impressed with his language skills! We were also visited by a goat, who momentarily threatened the offering basket and was summarily escorted away. After the service we were surrounded by people who wanted to shake our hands . . . if you really want to feel important, you ought to visit the Kagoma Church! We were also treated to lunch, and our girls shared bubbles with the children. Annika distributed stickers, and stuck them to everybody's foreheads.
.
This is really an impressive congregation. The minister, Paul Wandera, has accomplished great things during the past year, and has invested a lot of his own resources. The meeting place is located on his property, and it was built quite recently. Paul is trying to find ways to serve the local orphans and widows, and he is working to dig a well for the village. He was also one of Keith's students at the Busoga Bible School.
.
This was a great assembly experience for us . . . thank you, again, for supporting our visit here!
